I agree, my preferred journaling method is on my iPad early in the morning, and somewhere quiet. I have been using the Day One app for years, and I am curious if there is a hidden agreement between Apple and Bloom Built not to release the Journal app for iPad anytime soon due to their partnership back in the day. Fingers crossed that we see it on iPad soon, would love to have a native app that does not have a subscription fee. Great video, thank you!

I need help! My note changed and it made the paragraphs in blocks and added lines. Now I can get it back. It won’t even copy like it used to. It only copies in the blocks it made. I can’t copy ALL.

Dropped OmniFocus a few months ago in favour of Reminders. OF had got too complicated and the price to go from 3 to 4 was steep, I thought. So I'm now GTD-ing in Reminders.

I moved from 3rd party apps for reminders to Apple. But I do wish a calendar month view option for quick date changes of dates on items in iOS and iPad OS. Right now it’s 1) press item you want date changed 2) press calendar icon, (options for today, tomorrow, this weekend, Date & Time) 3) press Date & Time 4) select date within calendar month view. Really wish the default was calendar month view from the first or second step.

I only hate about this app the almost useless numbered list creating method. I cannot prevent to create a numbered list, and just type a simple numbered list without intendation.

I am currently using TickTick with the premium subscription as my life organization app. The thing is I'm using it mainly for the widgets (specifically the calendar one) and the habit tracker. I also find the matrix and pomodoro useful so I just wanted to ask, did you also use this features? And, if you did, have you found a way around them with the reminders app or inside iOS? I have watched dozens of videos on Reminders and yours is the absolute best I have seen for clear, concise and useful explanation of the app and its functions. Keep up the good work. I am also a big user of Notes and am about to go check out your video on that as well.

Hi, as you use apple notes a lot could you tell us about apple notes crashing after while writing with losing what we wrote. iOS updated, iPad restarted … but in apple support this pb is known but no solutions on this issue. Could you help or any idea to fix that? Thx in advance

I have been Journaling for years I agree with you I want an iPad app. I do not like typing with my thumbs. I would also like a Search function I routinely search my Day One Journal for specific events. I stopped using DO now I use the journal app exclusively and like it a lot. thank you for your review it was very helpful

I use Notes, Reminders and Calendar on a regular basis and love them all! I love that they all sync to all my Apple devices. I’m not a power user, so they exceed all I need for my use cases.

Thank you, lots of great pointers. I use the free version of Citymapper which is also excellent and can sometimes get you from city to city depending on where you are.

Your videos are amazing Brook, I am hoping you may know the answer to this daunting question about Journal. I naively recorded a interview with a family member thinking it would be a breeze to export the audio to another Apple app. : ( If I am missing something beyond playing and recording it onto another device with an app that will allow me to use it as a voiceover I will maintain my faith in my beloved Apple Apps.

I included the nano screen and I love it: I find the colors more vivid because they are not competing with glare. It also shows no fingerprints which drove me nuts on my 3G iPad Pro.

I upgraded from the same M1 Pro to the new M4 with MKB and it’s so much better and smaller. Definitely can feel it. I travel a lot for work. The display is amazing as well.

Brook, I just found your channel and like it. When I find a channel I enjoy I like to offer improvements I feel will help. First, but not the most important is, your photo 😁. Beautiful women look even better when they smile. Second, for instance your Notes tutorial, the video would be great if you had sections. Your video would have a section I could skip to that would show how a Handyman would use Notes, another sections that an Automobile Mechanic could keep notes, etc. Just some thoughts. Nice videos, keep up the good work! ]

Great video! Preview app is underrated. If you just want to take a quick look at something, keep the spacebar down and release when you’re done; it closes by itself. Great screenshot shortcuts! I often do screenshots, so I programmed my favourite screenshot shortcut on one of my mouse buttons.
